Trevor Fitts started for the Bulldogs and he had a great outing. In 5 1/3 innings, he struck out three and gave up five hits. Jacob Lindgren replaced Fitts and he had an even better day. Lindgren struck out six in 2 2/3 innings. Jonathan Holder came in the game in the 9th and sealed the save.
Hitting wise, it was not an overall stellar performance for the Bulldogs, but C.T. Bradford, one again, played fabulously. He went 3-4 with 2 RBIs and scored a run. Cody Brown went 1-3 with an RBI and a run, and Matthew Britton went 1-3 and scored a run.

The game got off to a slow start with no one scoring through 3, but C.T. Bradford came up big with a solo home run in the top of the 4th to give MSU the 1-0 lead. After not allowing Auburn to score in the 4th, the Bulldogs came back up to bat and Cody Brown hit the second Bulldog Bomb of the day, giving Mississippi State the 2-0 lead. After two scoreless innings, MSU was able to get on the board again with a C.T. Bradford double, scoring Matthew Britton.
Mississippi State improves to 29-18, 12-10 and will play game two of the series in Auburn, Alabama at 6:00 PM on CSS.
