SEC Tournament Recap - #7 (1) Florida 5, #18 (5) Mississippi State 1, 5/23/14

As a result of poor fielding, Mississippi State was eliminated from the 2014 SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama, losing to Florida 5-1.

Brandon Woodruff started on the bump for the Bulldogs and struggled. He gave up three runs and struck out zero in 3 1/3 innings of work. Ben Bracewell replaced Woodruff and had a better day. He struck out three and gave up a run in 2 2/3 innings. Vance Tatum pitched after Bracewell and struck out one an gave up a run in 1 inning. Dakota Hudson replaced Tatum and struck out one in 1 inning, and the last pitcher of the day was Austin Sexton who pitched 1 inning.

The Bulldog bats were cold, and when the Bulldogs leave the bases loaded and get nothing in the 1st inning, you know it's not going to be a good day. Florida dominated this game throughout. They scored twice in the 2nd, one in the 4th, once in the 6th, and once in the 7th. The Bulldogs weren't able to get a run across until the 8th.

Mississippi State drops to 37-22 and they will see where they're headed in the NCAA Tournament on Monday, May 26th.
